Aquatic Therapy

What is aquatic physical therapy?

Aquatic physical therapy is water-based rehabilitation provided by a licensed therapy professional. Aquatic therapy includes, but is not limited to treatment, rehabilitation, prevention, health, wellness and fitness of patient populations in an aquatic environment.

The unique properties of water enhance treatments for patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and cardiovascular/pulmonary conditions. Water provides an environment that creates resistance, promotes flexibility, improves balance, and helps to address pain in ways that can't be addressed by traditional land-based therapy.
